Elder Blanchard - Birthday Boy! 10-12-2017

It was Paul’s birthday on Thursday and we decided to do a fun little outing. We went to Canton for him to visit the Football Hall of Fame for his birthday celebration!  So I dropped him off and I went to the first lady museum, the President McKinley home and also the McKinley monument where he, his wife and two daughters who died as children are buried.
While we were there, President Welker called and said that a widow in our branch who was in the hospital in Columbus, 130 miles away, was being released and he nor Shirley could go, and asked us to go pick her up.  We went to Columbus not through Coshocton, so we headed west and had to stop at Walmart to buy her some pjs so she didn’t have to come home in a hospital gown. That University hospital is HUGE, but we got Erma okay and then took her back to the church, where Rain had taken over for us teaching the Self Reliance class and then Welkers took her to the nursing home in West Lafayette where she will stay for the next month while she gets back on her feet after her mini stroke.
Our total driving miles for the day was over 250 miles!
I  had made a trifle for Paul's birthday cake and so we had a little birthday celebration with our self reliance class, which was fun!  They loved the trifle!
So dinner on Paul’s birthday was eating a salad and sandwich from the Walmart deli in the car, so the next night we went out for his real birthday dinner to the Warehouse in Roscoe Village and had a wonderful meal!
Happy birthday #67 Pauline!!
