Valentine Institute Class and Dinner - Love Stories in the Scriptures 2-14-2018

Since Valentine’s Day fell on a Wednesday this year, we decided to host a special edition of our Institute Class – and call it Love Stories in the ScripturesWe also decided to have a dinner!  Many of our branch members are single so thought that this might be a nice way of celebrating Valentines Day for them. We heard from everyone: members, non-members, investigators, yes we are coming, and so planned food for about 30 people!
We decorated, prepared lasagna, garlic bread, green beans and salad with a yummy cheesecake bar at the end of the lesson.
We ended up having 17 come with several people who came for the first time, so that was great.  We had dinner, a special lesson about the greatest love story in the scriptures, the Love the Savior shows us and asks us to show to one another. John 13: 34 & 35, and Paul even had a sing along with his guitar for us to sing “As I Have Loved You”. The Lyrics: As I have loved you, Love one another. This new commandment: Love one another. By this shall men know Ye are my disciples, If ye have love One to another.”
Our invitation to act was to do something for someone you love from our discussion about several New Testament love stories.

We love these folks and had a very nice evening!
