Our Branch Christmas party was tonight and it was a
delightful evening!
We, along with many members of our branch, had invited lots of people
and were happy with the 46 that came!
Susan, one of the ladies that comes to our institute and
finance class was asked to do the decorations and she was so happy to be
included. She has helped with our Halloween party and is enjoying the new
found "family" that she is finding with Rain her friend and other church members! She, Rain, the Loves and Sister Blanchard went to the Loves’ property and picked pine cones and pine boughs. Susan painted the pine cones and arranged everything beautifully on the tables with borrowed angels and nutcrackers; the room looked
so nice! Everyone complimented her on
the beautiful job she did!
We began our gala at 4:00 and had a visit from Santa (thank
you Brother Jacobs!) and the kids (and non-kids) enjoyed sitting on his lap and telling what they
wanted for Christmas. My request was a skype with our grandkids! Then our Santa read from Luke about the birth
of the Savior! Not your typical Santa for sure, and a great idea for everyone to hear!
We then had dinner, and what a spread! Everyone brought yummy sides to go with roast
beef, ham, baked potatoes and rolls!
What a feast! There was way more food than any branch could eat!
After dinner, was our talent show, and it turned out to be
so much fun! There were musical numbers
(singing, harmonica and piano), demonstration of tying a tie blindfolded, story telling/readings, art and craft displays, dancing and
tumbling! We did a sing along
of Marvelous Toy, a song that we used to sing with our kiddos! That was fun!
Paul also thanked everyone in the Branch for all they have done for us and welcoming us so warmly into the branch. We love it in Coshocton!
The finale was the nativity put on by the Primary and young
women (we now have two wahoo!) and they did an incredible job with such a sweet
spirit. President and Sister Welker’s
dog Squeak even came as the donkey.
We loved having two Klein families with us! We snapped
pictures of Teri and Chip Klein, the mom and dad of all of these wonderful Klein
families. We took another photo of Dustin and Amanda Klein’s family and
their kids Ryann, Rileigh, Raegan and Briar, some of our favorite people ever! Each
of the four kids performed, Ryann showed her art, Rileigh and her friend
danced, Raegan did flips and Briar read a Christmas nativity story. They are such an amazing family! We are so happy when we are with them, we love
them so much!
Our Christmas party was a fun way to bring people of
different faiths together.
A great way
to celebrate the birth of the Savior who we represent!
