Lighting the World this Christmas Season! December 2017

We are so excited to be missionaries this Christmas!
This will be our only Christmas, and we want to make the most of this time when people are already thinking of the Savior and giving service!  We have planned something for almost every night of the month! We will be inviting people in, going out and giving community service. So fun!

We are hosting four open houses at our home with hot chocolate, cinnamon rolls, nativity video and Christmas music.
1.       One will be for Paul’s men’s Bible study group and their wives
2.       One for our immediate neighbors
3.       One for our Coshocton friends
4.       One for our branch members

We also will be helping to host our branch Christmas party this Saturday night and are putting on a talent show for all to share their visual and performing talents.  Everyone we know is invited!!

We have also organized two evenings of “caroling with the missionaries” where members sign up for a 1-hour time slot and the four missionaries come to their home and we go caroling with them to their friends.  An easy way for them to extend holiday service to their neighbors!

We began the “Light the World” initiative on Friday are excited to daily do something to help spread the light of the Savior this holiday season! We have also invited several of our non member friends to participate with us!

We attended a very fun candle lighting ceremony in Roscoe Village on Saturday night, where everyone sings Silent Night and lights candles.  They had two prayers from local ministers and read a beautiful story and lit a big beautiful Christmas tree.  A tradition here in Coshocton for 46 years!

Cohen and Melia were here for two days and they helped us put up our little Walmart tree and Dollar tree decorations. They helped make cookies and wanted to deliver them to our neighbors to do some “missionary work”!  Wahoo!
One neighbor invited us in for a little Christmas craft, which the kids loved!

We also have decorated outside our home with some festive decorations (thank you Dollar Tree and Good Will) to help get the feel of the holidays!
We put up our beautiful Amish nativity set, which we love!

We love the Christmas season and it will be especially wonderful this season as we serve as missionaries!

  1. Cute little helper elves you've got there. And your decorations look much better in the light than in the dark via skype. :) very festive!
