The last few weeks that we were in Coshocton were tender. We
had much to do and wanted to serve, and sometimes that worked and sometimes it
didn’t. It just depended on how Sister
Blanchard felt and some days were better than others.
A few of the things that we got to do:
Help Allison Gothard with her yard, she had just had
surgery to remove a 10 lb tumor that was miraculously benign!
We helped a widow in our branch write her life story
Have Ice Cream Sundays - an open house for the Sisters to
bring their investigators to have ice cream on Sunday night and just chat
(unfortunately these never got to happen in our home, but the Jacobs’ were so
sweet to step in and cover when we were not able)
Deliver dogfood to a recent convert who was living in a
flood zone
Attend the Elite Spectacular – the annual dance performance
that Rileigh and Reagan Klein performed in, Ryann Kelin was stage manager,
Dustin Klein made all the props and Amanda did the makeup and hair. It was a huge performance! Briar sat with us!
Attend the Catholic Church Fish Fry right before Easter – unfortunately
they ran out of fish right before we got to the end of the line, but we got to
visit as we waited.
Attend the temple – always wonderful!
Attend Ryann Klein’s softball game. She is the pitcher, and she did great! A very
fun evening!
Attend Arayah and Jayden’s soccer game, a fun morning at
Lake Park.
Visit with our dear neighbors, Jeanine Cairns (holding the 4
pair of slippers that she sent home for each of our Utah grandchildren!) and
Susan and Allison Gothard, women that we have prayed with and shed tears of joy
with as Allison struggled for months with a hugs tumor! Miracles happened!
Oh it was hard to try to slow down and rest when there was so much work to do, people to meet and love and needs to fill!
